Breaker Bay

Acrylic on Unstretched Canvas
1200mm x 900mm
This painting was pained from a series of photos that I took of the infamous Breaker Bay in Wellington, the location where The Waihine hit rocks in the 1960’s. This painting was painted as a gift for my sister, who at the time was living overseas in London, to remind her of home. We took it with us when we visited, and it actually got lost in transit in Los Angeles before having to be delivered via Courier. Normally for a landscape like this I would prefer to do it on a frame, but obviously this would make it a little more difficult to get it across the other side of the world.
